Fall of a great power

The enemy was making us spend more than we could afford. We were still sure that we could best them in the long fight for superiority. We worked hard. We went to the Olympics, and took many metals. We spread our word about our great system of governing throughout the world. We won over Asian hearts to our way of life. We helped African nations set up for the new world order. We sent men and women into space. We built great buildings and won wars. We were one of the greatest powers on the planet. We had managed to keep our continent in our philosophy. We managed to help the poor on many continents. We built a spacelab. We were powerful.
Then the enemy made us spend money to keep up with their nuclear desires. They built instruments of destruction that could kill millions. They forced us to spend money to defend against their proliferation. They used a war of words and information and misinformation to defeat us. They were ruthless in their use of money. They finally beat us because we could not spend enough money to stop them We are NOT the USSR. That is what happened to them. Their rivals spent so much money that they could not keep up. They had to fold their hand and ask for a re deal.
The terrorists have made US spend and spend to 'keep on top' of the hill and now we have spent into oblivion. It is not too late to stop the spiraling. But if we cut government spending without realizing that cutting spending means cutting jobs which means cutting tax revenue collected, which means more money going out to help the needy unemployed former government workers which means more spending. Raise revenues raise taxes for those that can afford to pay more, collect taxes on ALL income for Social programs, not just up to a certain level. Do this and you can stop the Fall. End the wars but make sure that we have jobs for the veterans that come home. Encourage employers to hire workers in this country. Penalize the companies that send work to other countries. Do all of these things and the economy will improve, the way of life will improve and the standard of living will remain high.
Don't do it and the terrorists will most certainly do to the US what the US did to the USSR. It will bankrupt us and end our way of life. This is not an opinion this is a fact.

Chase likes Muslims

I say this because if you ever see their ads on the TV you will notice the background music is from a well known Muslim activist. Yusef Islam formerly the artist known as Cat Stevens. This means that the Chase people are multicultural.

Another take on Unemployment.. not a solution

Just an observation..
I have a friend who has a friend that owns several factories. In China. That man has been in four continents in two weeks looking for a place to build a new factory. Why? The Chinese workers are trying to organize to get higher wages, and some have done so. So he is probably going to put up a couple of factories in Africa, Liberia or Kenya probably, because they work now for 10 cents an hour and he can double their income at 20 cents an hour and save 4 dollars an hour or so.
What can we do?
We can boycott his products!!!
Or can we? Most of us will buy those products because they will be half the price of the American made product, and they will be similar quality.
Why? Because we can't get a good enough job to buy American.
To quote a famous newscaster..
and so it goes........

How to fix Unemployment

Give money to the small businesses that can create jobs.
No Tax Credits that will not be a boon until tax time, give real money, grants, not loans, to businesses that have made a commitment to hire if they have money to do so. Then, after six months of this, if the unemployment rates don't go down by at least one percent, discontinue the program.
Try something else.
The Congressional members all seem to agree that small business is the way to get out of this unemployment circus. The R's say give them tax credits for hiring. ThePrez says we will give them tax credits, the D's say we should give them tax credits.. So give them tax free money in the form of grants.
Wait.. SPEND MORE MONEY?... Yes, because when you hire people they will be paying taxes and we will get that money back in the form of taxes. Make sure that you only give the employers the amount of money that will be recieved back in taxes from the new hires... the program pays for itself with no impact on the deficit.
How can anyone oppose this plan? It is a Win-Win..

Health Care Gets Voted Against by Medicare Voters

That the Proposition C was voted into place here in Missouri is puzzling to me.
The proponents of the proposition were using the argument that the government shouldn't make us buy something. We do that now, every week we purchase Medicare insurance. We don't get to use it until we hit a certain age but we do, in fact do that today. The fact that it has to be purchased from a private carrier is the fault of those that opposed the 'public option'. Had the public option not been sacked then we all would just have to pay more for Medicare but we could use it TODAY, not wait until later.
The fact of the matter is that if the opponents to health care had not forced the Legislators to trash the public option there would be no conversation, we would have just payed more to Medicare and everyone would be covered. We would not have to pay a private provider. What they did was just make it possible for the private carriers to make a lot more money.
To say that the government took over health care is so very inaccurate with the current legislation. If we had the public option THEN you could make that case but at this point it is not the case.

The most troubling thing is that the biggest block of voters against the health care and for Proposition C were those in Medicare, the elder voters, that are ALREADY REAPING THE BENEFITS OF THE PUBLIC OPTION. There is nothing in any legislation referring to health care or 'Obamacare' as they like to call it that gets rid of or reduces regular Medicare benefits. So why did they vote for "C"? Republican fear mongers made them believe that they would lose some benefits. They kept the message out there through all the outlets that the elder voter is likely to expose themselves to. The Limbaughs, Becks et.al. hammered that message over and over until it was, in their minds, the truth.
It is the job of the rest of us to get out that truth. We must get the truth out to everyone before this country is stuck in litigation spending money on lawyers and court cases and no one taking care of the sick man that can't qualify for Medicaid and can't afford to pay for private insurance because he had acne as child and it is a pre-existing condition. (This has happened, by the way.)
So how can we get the word out? Help me in this.
